Ted Hawley is the owner of New York Craft Malt, located on Hawley Farms (est. 1909) in Batavia, New York. Founded in 2012, New York Craft Malt was the first malthouse to be registered in the state since prohibition. A fourth-generation farmer, Ted uses his background in agriculture and business to work with local growers, brewers, and distillers to create distinctive beverages containing the unique terroir of New York State. Ted is an active participant in the malting industry serving on the Malting Barley Initiative Task Force and was instrumental in organizing the Buffalo Niagara Brewers' Association. Ted serves on numerous committees and speaks often at industry gatherings throughout the state.
